Well, it must be said. Harry Potter 3 is officially a good movie... now, I didn't say 'great'... but it's pretty cool.
Afonso Cuarón may be a wierd chap, but he certainly did a better job directing than Chris "Home Alone" Columbus. Daniel "Harry" Radcliffe even seemed to know how to act a bit, which came as a pleasant surprise. Emma "Hermione" Watson, however, doesn't look geeky enough and despite what reactions I might get, she's quite a good lookin girl, and when she hits 16 (in the final movie) she'll be even better looking. Rupert "Ron" Grint was good too... and they all look so much older! Now, for the 2 new cast members... Gary "Sirius" Oldman did a good job of Sirius, but he was a little more... manic than I may have imagined. The other guy, whose name I know not, was perhaps a perfect casting job for the role of Lupin. Worked very well in the more... personal scenes with Harry. And then, the sweeping views of the amazing Hogwarts grounds... funky stuff. Beautiful place, which Chris failed to explore in the earlier movies. I'm looking forward to the next movie, which'll be directed by Mike Nichols, who's amazing.
Also, the fact that I was stoned for the second half of the movie didn't do it any damage either. it was so... purdy.
Then, after c'ete movie, Kaz and I met up with Zoe and Iris and Angus and a new friend, Birdie, and had some drinks and a couple more joints (hey, i'm only human). Actually, I had a frightening experience last night... when we were just sitting innocently around the center of cascais, who pops into view? Was none other than a group of teachers (and Sam.. poor guy). Actually, I enjoy seeing teachers out of school, it's so casual. And it was nice teachers, like Lewis (Ms), Scott, Wright and stuff. Had a little chat and then let them go about their business... poor people.
AND THEN! back at my place... more Six Feet Under Series 2... wow. Great, great show. So good stoned... today we watched another episode at lunch (sober this time) and it was still great. Tonight there's more! Can't wait... and we get to see Nathan which is always fun... THANKS VIKI FOR THE DISCS!
And now, the sadder portion of this post... in my everlasting narcisism, I went online to search for the meaning of my name (i'm still not sure) and I found a site that not only had a meaning (brave strength) and origin (Germanic) and gender (male, surprisingly enough) but it also had a poll on how much people liked the name... talk about ouch. here are the results:
Vote Results For Geert Excellent..........................10%
Very Good........................3%
Good..................................2%
Regular.............................6%
Don't Like It....................79%
And they had a lovely little animation of the Dont Like It bar just zooming up... like it.. like it would never stop.... **weep**
Oh, and by the way, only 1% hate Zack's name (Zack)... out of 795 votes. And mine was just 89 votes... ouch. Well, I know why. It's because nobody reads my name correctly... must be that.... aaaargh.
And no, I wont give the URL because it hurts too much.
Anyway, I thought I'd give my two cents,
see yous

Oh, and by the way, Noelle is telling me how much she hates coming home, so everyone go down to her site and leave a nice message reminding her how great it is to live in a third world country. we love you deary.
Get a hold of "Y tu mamá también" by said director. Brilliant movie, you might just like it. (Oh, I didn't much care for Momo but did you read the 2 Jim Button books? Quite cute.)
