You know how, when you have a very active day, your muscles are stiff on the next? And you know how usually you can tell when you've had enough activity, and prevent the stiffness? Well, if you're drunk while you're being active, you don't acknowledge the consequences (of anything, really) and so, I now have a stiff neck... and one or two people who are slightly wary of me.
Anyway, let me begin at, what is it, the beginning. As I warned you, Ruben and Zack came over to discuss what to do in Rome... and as is our way, we only spoke very little of it. We did, however, find what we believe to be the Bairro Alto of Rome, and intend to spend our saturday night there. yay.
Then Ruben reminded me that it was Luiza's birthday party that afternoon, so I decided to tag along (I had nothing else to do besides EE, HI, World Lit, Research Commission and Maths) but first, I went to get my phone. Shit, where did I leave it? I know I had it when I came home... hmm. Look under the bed, on my desk, in the living room... shit... wait, I'll call it... hm... it's off. Then, as all the pieces were coming into place, I look over my shoulder at the washing machine... a memory flashes before my eyes... while I was barely awake, my mother... came in... took my trousers... put them in the wash... shit. You guessed it, my phone was in the pocket. Not only did it go through the washing machine, but it was currently making a home of the dryer. Poor thing. The bad news, however, was that the power had gone out... so I couldn't open the damn machine anyway. Oh well. Luckily, right before I left, the power came back on, and I took it out... but it was broken. Of course. I kept it for the day, hoping power might come back to it, but to no avail... oh well.
So, Ruben and I went to catch the bus to cascais, to buy a gift for Luiza. It was gonna be no problem, Ruben knew exactly what to get, but 3 CD shops later, we were in a bit of a pickle... none of them had the CD we needed. Instead, we went with DVDs, which are always nice... very personal gifts. I also finally got my train pass... so I can go to school on monday. Oh yay. Anyway, the party was nice, we all went swimming etc etc. Afterwards, we decided to go out, had dinner at Telepizza (coz Rikky was there) and then went to cascais.
As I'm getting tired of writing, I'm not going to go into the bit of a pickle we encountered on the boardwalk between Estoril and Cascais, but it was definitely a thriller. In cascais we went to Sopas, had a Camilla shot and a Luiza shot, both good, and then I had a tequila with Zoe and Iris, who happened to show up. At this point, i was getting a bit drunk (i'd also had a few beers at the party) and I get active when I'm drunk (which explains the sore neck) and also fkin annoying (which explains the black eye). I also saw some soon to be year 12s from my school, so I said hi (because I'm so friendly) and found out some of the people who'd be in my tutor group (Omar, Archie, Olivia, Blanche... all I remember) so that's pretty cool. Those people are allright (for year 12s...)
Anyway, I had planned for this to be an interesting post, but last night was a bit of a downer... and despite my fertile imagination, I am unable to kick some oomph into it. Tonight is mummy's party, so that should be fun...
I recently got hold of Adobe Photoshop 8.0 (legally... of course) and I've been trying out some of the small tutorials they've got on there, one of which is about drawing smoke... so I've been trying that. Let me know what you tink of these fuckabouts.
Moving on, the last quote was identified (Scent of a Woman, links through Chris O'Donnel) and so I present the next quote, from another great movie (I'll only quote shit ones when I have no choice)
"Champagne for my real friends, real pain for my sham friends"
Anyway, I'm glad to hear that the thing about Iny's friends is true, welcome. And thank you Aiko for that very nice comment. Writing has never been a hobby of mine, though... until I got this blasted thing...
I should get a site counter on here someday... and advertisements :) make some dosh.
I say anyway a lot... can anyone suggest another word to use when I'm changing topic?
