Did you know that primitive reason are still alive? The band, I mean. Their music is so frickity awesome, but I hadn't heard anything from them in a while. Then, to their site, and lo and behold, they are recording their next album. Yaaay. If you ever get the chance, go see them live. It's quite a show. Bring your own doobie.
Today, and yesterday, in TArts, we did some serious work. Since we're now studying contemporary american theatre, we had to watch Glengarry Glen Ross, with (*clears throat to name incredible ensemble*) Spacey, Pacino, Lemmon, Harris, Arkin and Baldwin. had to watch it, you see. It's just so cool. Anyway, it was written by David Mamet, who is on record saying that method acting is bullshit (i'm paraphrasing) which is heavil ironic since in this movie, the cast is comprised of some of the best method actors around, a talent which is put to the test in this high paced movie. They all pass the test. The dialogue is great, it's so real. For people who don't appreciate acting, however, they may find it lacking of action and explosions. The only explosions are emotional, and they're better than the best pyrotechnics in show business. Check the movie out if you have the chance.
Christmas is coming and I have no idea what to get for Olivia... I can discuss it here, because she never checks it out, but I won't because it has to be *special* and surprising. Grr, is so hard. I'll figure somehting out... I'm going to miss her though. She's going to Bath for Xmas, and I'm staying here. At least she's back for New Years. Speaking of which, Zoe's back in town and it was great seeing her the other day. I can't wait to get back to her stoner-pad... hehe.
Recently, i was reading through my old Xanga posts from right about this time last year. My word, I was a sad chap. Poor me. Check it out if you want, though I warn you, it's fallen into disarray. I havent touched it since I dumped it (like most girls, hehe) and all the photos have gone. Oh well. It's a hard knock life.
Despite the fact that this post lacks humour, which is for the most part promised, I'm going to end it here and let you find your own comedy. I'm tired of work and therefore am doing very, very little of it. I have, however, managed to keep to the deadlines that are required to keep me in the IB... so far. It's looking good, though... I always told myself that after christmas everything will be easier. Less work but more exams. I'm good at exams, though, so I don't worry. I just need to study. The next things due in are for February, and only at the end of the month. No worries. As for the work that isn't required but is certainly requested: don't count on it getting done.
Last thing: Congrats to Syd and Elise for getting into Lesbian Lawrence College... well done. I'll worry about my own US prospects next year, when I'm more stoned. I have to cut down a bit... but that's not hard. I'm not a very stonery stoner. It's more casual, so it's ok. I sure do feel like a j now, though... grr.
